Professional Counseling for Career and Life Transitions
I am licensed in the State pf Texas as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (202178) and as a Licensed Professional Counselor (77039). I am also dually licensed in the State of California as both a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC42530) and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC542). I am also a Distance Credentialed Counselor (DCC 2253). I have been working with individuals and couples in therapy since 1998, when I began volunteering at a crisis center. Since then, I have also worked for a nonprofit counseling service, a county mental health clinic, and was in private practice in San Ramon, California for 7 years before starting my private practice in Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas.
I grew up in El Paso, Texas, attended UTEP for three years before relocating to Roswell, NM and received my bachelor's degree in Psychology from Eastern New Mexico Universityin Portales, NM. In addition, I have lived in Anchorage, AK, St. Louis, MO, Seattle, WA, and San Ramon, CA before moving back to Texas . I worked over 20 years in several corporate, nonprofit and government settings prior to becoming a licensed therapist. I received my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at City University of Seattle. In addition, I have completed extensive training and received a certificate in both Crisis Counseling and Grief Counseling, and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a member of the International Association of Trauma Professionals.
